Dante' Pope Featured at All Souls Church

All Souls Unitarian Church, 1500 Harvard Street NW, Washington, DC

Founded as one of the first multi-racial choirs in Washington D.C., the All Souls Church Unitarian Choir, joined by poets and spoken word artists from Split This Rock, will honor America’s first great poet, Walt Whitman,through stories and songs of revolution, resistance, and radical self-love. The Millennium Stage was created and underwritten by James A. Johnson and Maxine Isaacs to make the performing arts accessible to everyone in fulfillment of the Kennedy Center's mission to its community and the nation.

Sean Heély Strathmore Residency Performance

Strathmore Mansion , 10701 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD

Inspired by his Scottish ancestry, violinist Seán Heely breathes new life into the rich traditions of Celtic music, engaging audiences with every bow stroke. Follow Heely’s fiddle on a journey through Scotland, Ireland, and America. A US National Scottish Fiddle Champion and a nationally awarded Irish fiddler, his music also encompasses classical, bluegrass, and swing music. Heely has performed with traditional music icons such as Irish fiddle legend Liz Carroll and cellist virtuoso Natalie Haas. From lively reels and jigs to the haunting airs and songs of Scotland and Ireland, he seamlessly weaves ancient traditions with modern compositions.

Strathmore Artist In Resident Program Concert at AMP

Current 2019 Strathmore Artist in Residents will partner with high school students to put on a show to remember. These students are being mentored by Dante' and his classmates to build their musicianship, understanding of music business and gain more confidence on stage. These students were reviewed and chosen by Strathmore to represent the best and brightest young musicians in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Founded in 2008 by singer/songwriter Justin Trawick, "The 9 Songwriter Series" is a touring live music event based in Washington, DC. The show was created with the idea of nine artists getting together and combining their talents in order to play in nicer clubs and to larger amounts of people. Each installment features nine solo singer/songwriters performing in rotation and often sitting in with each other, providing audiences with a rich, intimate, varied listening experience.

Liner Notes premiered at the Atlas Performing Arts Center in 2012 and has since become a successful series with several installments. To date, Liner Notes has sold out over twenty performances and has paid tribute to approx. 200 artists and their music. Featuring Paige Hernandez, Baye Harrell, Akua Allrich and Kris Funn’s Corner Store Jazz Quintet.

Samuel Prather is an exciting and multifaceted pianist, drummer, and vocalist born and raised in Washington DC. Sam has developed a reputation in the local music scene performing and producing with all types of acts. He's equally comfortable in Jazz, Funk, Gospel, Brazilian, Latin, Neo-Soul, and R&B. On the groove side he has worked with Shania Twain, Raul Midon, and Fred Yonnet while on the Jazz side he has shared the stage with Hugh Masekela, Cyrus Chestnut, Pharoh Saunders, and Bennie Maupin to name a few. He won a student downbeat award in 2012 for his work with the Howard University Jazz Ensemble and currently leads his own critically acclaimed ensemble “Groove Orchestra"
