Reflections

Dante’ Pope presents, “Reflections.” This performance is a multi-genre presentation rooted in jazz featuring Micahel Bowie, Colin Chambers and Wes Felton. “Reflections,” is inspired from sermons and speeches given by prolific African American leaders cross generations. These monologues will be paired with visuals and live performance to provide the audience a multi-sensory experience within the context of Black History, according to Dante’.

Dante’ Pope is a multi-genre percussionist, producer and vocalist from Chicago based in DC. Since moving to the District 15 years ago, he’s become the Vice President of the DC Chapter of The Recording Academy, contributed to a Grammy-nominated album, ‘Black Cowboys,’ with Dom Flemons and Smithsonian Folkways. Through service he’s fused his passions of arts, education and advocacy to work with DC Public Charter Schools, The DC Mayors Youth Employment Program and a host of arts and education non-profits within the region.

This performance serves as Dante’s first offering as a NOMAD Resident of Eaton House.

Signature heats things up for the summer months with the first cabaret in two years! Inspired by Stevie Wonder’s 1980 platinum album Hotter than July, this sizzling cabaret sets the ARK ablaze with songs from the album such as “All I Do” and “Master Blaster (Jammin’)” along with some of Stevie’s other hits like “Isn’t She Lovely,” “Summer Soft,” “I Just Called To Say I Love You” and “Higher Ground.”
