Hotter Than July: Stevie Wonder Cabaret at Signature Theatre

Signature heats things up for the summer months with the first cabaret in two years! Inspired by Stevie Wonder’s 1980 platinum album Hotter than July, this sizzling cabaret sets the ARK ablaze with songs from the album such as “All I Do” and “Master Blaster (Jammin’)” along with some of Stevie’s other hits like “Isn’t She Lovely,” “Summer Soft,” “I Just Called To Say I Love You” and “Higher Ground.”

We have a huge celebration planned, because it's not only the release of our album... but it's also Father's Day in the US, and Juneteenth! We will acknowledge the role of parent-figures in children's lives, as well as the role of rhythm in brain development and community healing.

There will be gifts for all children who attend... plus a chance to WIN a free Finding Rhythm CD or tee shirt from our kids' go-go single, Soul. Beat. Connection.!

This year’s Columbia Heights Day will expand to not only include outdoor spaces at Tubman Elementary, but also include the Columbia Heights Civic Plaza, public space at 14th/ Girard, and businesses throughout the neighborhood. We are excited to offer a “deconstructed” street festival as we work to celebrate this unique and vibrant community in new, safe ways.

Witness peak bloom at the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC while also experiencing entertainment that represents Japanese, American and other cultures! Dante' Pope presents music from the musical, "Finding Rhythm," written by Dr. Jessica Phillips-Silver and arranged by Dante' Pope.

Live performances among the blossoms at the Tidal Basin celebrate the longstanding friendship between the U.S. and Japan with a dynamic, cross-cultural mix of American, Japanese, and other performing arts.
